🇺🇸 Honoring those who gave everything.
This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the courageous service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their legacy lives on in the freedoms we cherish each day.
Today, we pause in gratitude and remembrance. 🐘
Lucy from another era. 🐘
But one fascinating detail in this historic photo helps reveal the time period. If you zoom in on the bottom left, you can spot the name “Fishers” on the building behind Lucy.
Why does that matter? A newspaper report from 1893 offers the answer:
“Chas. W. Fisher has taken charge at the Elephant Pavilion and he has introduced many innovations to attract the people to that place.” —Atlantic City Sunday Press, The Sunday Gazette, June 4, 1893.
It’s amazing how even the smallest details in old photographs can help tell Lucy’s story. ✨
