Lucy’s Gift Shop Has Moved!
Lucy the Elephant is still in her usual spot, but Lucy’s Gift Shop has moved temporarily across the street in preparation for construction of a new Visitor Welcome & Interpretive Center, scheduled to begin soon. The new center will include a bigger gift shop, ADA-compliant restrooms, new exhibits, and spaces for everyone to learn about Lucy’s history. This will make Lucy more accessible, especially for visitors with mobility challenges.
Here are some tips for your visit:
- Location: The Gift Shop is now at 9219 Atlantic Avenue (corner of Atlantic and Washington Avenues). Purchase your tour tickets and explore a variety of Lucy-themed souvenirs here.
- Parking: Free 2-hour parking is available onsite at Lucy the Elephant, but spaces are limited. A parking permit, available from our staff, must be displayed on your dashboard. Vehicles without valid permits will be towed.
- Tours: Guided tours of Lucy will continue as usual, starting every 45 minutes. Check Lucy’s social media or website for updates if you’re traveling a long distance.
- Park Access: Josephine L. Harron Park will stay open as much as possible, but certain areas may close for safety during construction.
We appreciate your patience as we work to enhance the visitor experience at Lucy the Elephant. Thank you for your understanding, and we can’t wait to welcome you to the only elephant in the world you can walk through and come out alive! 🐘
