The World-Renowned Budweiser Clydesdales are making a visit to Lucy the Elephant on Thursday, August 15th, 2024. We are anticipating large crowds in Margate for this special event and traffic could be quite heavy. To preemptively avoid any issues, Margate City has decided to close Atlantic Avenue & Ventnor Avenues between Cedar Grove Avenue and Washington Avenue from 1:00PM to 4:15PM on August 15. This means there will be NO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC permitted during this time in the area highlighted in RED in the image below.
What does this mean for you?
If you have plans to visit Lucy the Elephant on Thursday, August 15th between 1pm and 4:15pm be advised that you WILL NOT BE ABLE to drive directly to Lucy the Elephant. We encourage all of our visitors to find street parking on one of the streets located outside of this zone and then walk the remaining distance to Lucy the Elephant. Guided Tours through the landmark will be operating on our regular schedule with tours beginning every 45 minutes. Additionally, Lucy’s Gift Shop will remain open as regularly scheduled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that this does not prevent you from visiting Lucy the Elephant as previously planned.
